Color Coding and Styling

Pie Calendar automatically adapts to your websites existing styling in terms of colors, fonts, link styles, and more.

Included in Pie Calendar Pro is the ability to designate colors for your events. Depending on which calendar view you’re looking at, the colors will be shown in different ways, which we often see used as “Legends” for complex calendars.

If you’re using the standard calendar view, the “Event Color” is shown as a colored dot before the event title.
When using the “Time Grid” view, the Event Color is the background color of the event and the text color is event title color on top of that background color.

It’s also possible to set a color at a global level for a given taxonomy or an entire post type for easier styling. Learn more about that here: https://docs.piecalendar.com/article/37-setting-event-colors-by-taxonomy-term

Pie Calendar also has a dark mode built in, which can be forced or set to detect the users color scheme preference with the theme=”adaptive” or theme=”dark” shortcode parameter. Note that your theme needs to also handle the switching of colors automatically or you may run into visual and accessibility issues.
